Rain Denies Pump Jacks and Tomcats

The East Texas Pump Jacks escaped Alexandria this weekend without losing a game to the weather, but Tropical Storm Bonnie followed the team to Kilgore.

Despite the staff’s best efforts to prepare the field Tuesday, the rain didn’t stop falling. The weather ultimately forced the cancellation of the game between the Pump Jacks and Texas Tomcats. The contest will not be made up.

Fans with tickets to Tuesday’s game can exchange them for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any remaining 2010 regular season game, subject to availability. Exchanges can be made at the Pump Jacks office at 1100 Stone Road, Suite 120, in Kilgore, or at the ticket booth prior to any home game.

Wednesday a familiar foe returns to historic Driller Park. The Alexandria Aces, who have faced the Pump Jacks six times in just under two weeks, will be the opponent for the Jacks’ Cajun Fiesta, presented by Hebert’s Specialty Meats. Come out to the ballpark and enjoy Hebert’s famous spicy boudain sausage for just $2! Round out the evening with the Pump Jacks’ ever-popular frozen margarita, just $3 on Wednesdays.

An off-day Thursday gives way to a return trip to Alexandria Friday. The Jacks move on to Bryan Saturday night to face the Brazos Valley Bombers in a battle of the TCL’s top two teams in the second half.
