On Tuesday, July 20, the East Texas Pump Jacks are going to play not one home game but two, and it will be free to the public. Best of all, proceeds will go to a local charity in need.
The Pump Jacks will take on the McKinney Marshals at historic Driller Park Tuesday night, and fans are invited to attend for FREE. That’s right, no charge, zilch, nada, nothing.
The catch? The Pump Jacks request that every fan make a donation of any size to support the Boys & Girls Club. The donation can be any amount, as little as a penny or as much as you wish to provide the Boys & Girls Club.
As an added bonus, fans who make a donation of $2 or more will receive a box seat for the doubleheader. Lower Box seats normally cost $10 and Upper Box seats go for $8 each, so even with the minimum donation, fans can save a bundle. And fans who make their donations early and pick up Lower Box seats will enjoy a great benefit: In-your-seat wait service, a standard perk for Lower Box seat ticket holders.
“This is the very first time the Pump Jacks have hosted a “free” night like this, but we’re happy to do so on behalf of the Boys & Girls Club,” said Jacks general manager Mike Lieberman. “When we had to move these games from McKinney because of facility conflicts there, this just seemed like the right time to join with our fans and give back to the community.”
All donations will go to support the Boys & Girls Club. Kids from the Boys & Girls Club will also be given free tickets so they can enjoy the evening with their benefactors and Pump Jacks fans.
The evening is supported by the Kilgore News Herald, proud supporters of the Pump Jacks since our arrival in East Texas.
Season ticket holders will receive tickets for the doubleheader at no charge. Season ticket holders may contact the Pump Jacks office for their tickets, or they can pick them up at the ticket office at historic Driller Park before the games on Sunday or Tuesday.
Fans will also get to enjoy Pump Jacks Dollar Days on Tuesday night. All regular hot dogs, regular soft drinks, and popcorn cost just one dollar, all night long.
When the gates open at 5 pm, fans can also enjoy the Jacks’ new Happy Hour: All 12-ounce draft beers are one dollar, and the new frozen margaritas are only $3! Happy hour runs every game from when the gates open until game time, except Thirsty Thursdays, when draft beers are already one dollar!
The Jacks are currently tied for first place in the second half of the season and charging towards a playoff berth. Even if East Texas falls short in the second-half race, the Pump Jacks are still in line to pick up a wild card spot and qualify for the postseason.
The Pump Jacks kick off the week on Sunday against the Texas Tomcats with Longview News-Journal Night. The first 100 fans through the gates will receive a free color-changing cup, courtesy of the Longview News-Journal. Fans can also enjoy a special family discount for the game: four grandstand tickets for just $10 (saving as much as $10), or four tickets and four meals for only $25. Fans can visit theGOspot.com for their money-saving coupon.
The games originally scheduled for Monday and Tuesday in McKinney have been relocated to historic Driller Park for the Tuesday doubleheader. Wednesday’s scheduled contest in McKinney against the North Texas Copperheads has been cancelled because of the same facility scheduling conflicts.
After a day off on Thursday, the Jacks return home for a single game – and a singularly fantastic promotion: Fireworks Friday, presented by KLTV News. Once again, the Pump Jacks will light up the night sky with an incredible fireworks display, set to a new soundtrack. This is the fourth of five fireworks shows this summer, so if you haven’t seen one yet, time is running out!
