After taking the first half race down to the wire, the East Texas Pump Jacks were looking forward to starting the second half of the 2010 season on the right foot.
Unfortunately, the quest for the postseason will have to wait another day.
Due to poor field conditions in the Metroplex, the Pump Jacks’ game at the North Texas Copperheads Thursday night has been cancelled and will not be made up.
The Pump Jacks finished the first half in third place, just two games out of first. A first place finish in the second half will guarantee a third straight year of playoffs at historic Driller Park.
With the cancellation, the Pump Jacks’ second half now begins with a two-game series Friday and Saturday against the Brazos Valley Bombers.
Friday marks the first 2010 visit to historic Driller Park by the Bombers, and it also features one of the most popular promotions in east Texas: Fireworks Friday presented by KLTV News. The Pump Jacks will light up the night sky with a spectacular post-game fireworks display, set to a brand-new soundtrack. Fireworks Friday presented by KLTV News always impresses, so don’t miss it!
East Texas closes out the short homestand Saturday with another Saturday Giveaway.
